About

Hey, I'm Sean.

I'm a Computer Engineering student, entrepreneur, and someone who has a habit of turning curiosity into projects.

I like learning how things work, but even more than that, I like trying to build something with what I learn.

Sometimes that's software for a client. Sometimes it's an embedded system, a financial project, a business idea, or something I started simply because I couldn't stop thinking about it.

01How I got here

I didn't start out with a plan to become an engineer and start businesses.

A lot of it came from following what interested me and being willing to figure things out as I went.

I study Computer Engineering at Florida Atlantic University. The biggest turning point outside class was building software for Catalyst Art: one of the first times I had to take someone else's real business problem and turn it into an actual product. That meant understanding what the client really needed, deciding what should be built, researching things I didn't know, choosing the technology, and delivering something useful.

That project pushed me further into entrepreneurship and showed me I enjoy the engineering and the business side about equally. It also set the pattern for how I learn: start something, then figure it out along the way.

02Building

I like building things.

The projects I care about usually start with a question. Can this be done better? How does this actually work? Could this become something bigger?

From there it's the same loop every time. Understand the problem. Research what I don't know yet. Build it, in software or hardware or both. Keep going until the idea is something real that someone can use.

That loop has taken me from client software to an embedded road-safety system to a real-time financial platform. The subject changes. The part I enjoy stays the same.

03Business

Engineering is only one side of what I'm interested in.

I love business. I'm interested in why people buy things, how companies grow, how products are positioned and sold, how ideas become companies, how money moves, and what makes one business work while another doesn't.

I run Zylzio, a small technology consulting business, where I build software for clients and help them with the technology and marketing side of growing. Right now it's one part of what I do. Long term, I'd like it to become more of an engineering studio that builds products of its own.

I'm also interested in eventually building more than one company, rather than limiting myself to one path.

04Training

Training is a big part of my life.

I run, lift, bike, swim, and like having physical goals that force me to stay consistent.

I like it because it's simple in a way a lot of other things aren't. You put in the work, pay attention to what's working, and eventually you see what changes.

I'm not trying to turn that into advice. It's just an important part of how I live.

05Life

I care a lot about what I'm building, but I don't want my whole life to happen behind a laptop.

I like traveling, finding new places, skiing, good food, and the kind of experiences that are worth remembering. I like learning new things, and I like going down a rabbit hole when something catches my attention.

06Where I'm headed

I don't have every part of the next ten years figured out, but I know the direction.

I want to become a strong engineer and build products and companies. I want to grow Zylzio into more of an engineering studio, and find out whether ideas like Connected Road Safety can become much larger than a project.

I want to build an audience around what I'm doing, so the people who might work with me can see the work as it happens.

And I want to keep training, keep traveling, and enjoy the process instead of only the results. This site is where I'm keeping track of it.
